"Nearly Witches (Ever Since We Met...)" is a song recorded by Panic! At The Disco for their third studio album, Vices & Virtues.

The song, originally titled "Nearly Witches," was recorded in roughly 2007 with majority of the song written by Ryan Ross. The song was slated to appear on their original second album, Cricket & Clover. Upon the scrapping of the album however, the song was left behind, with only a 50 second demo of Ross's lyrics recorded.

In the making of Vices & Virtues, the band brought back the song. However, Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith wrote new lyrics to replace Ross's.

Supposedly, the only line kept from Ryan Ross was "Here I am composing a burlesque." During performances, Urie always sings this line in an exaggerated high pitch, leading fans to believe that this is a form of mocking Ryan Ross. However, this has since been debunked, with the belief that Brendon was doing this in a parody manner, as the term burlesque is a synonym for parody.

Lyrics

My wing tips waltz across naive
Wood floors they creak
Innocently down the stairs

Drag melody
My percussive feet serve cobweb headaches as a
Matching set of marching clocks
The slumbering apparitions
That they've come to wake up

(Do do do do)

Here I am composing a burlesque
Out of where they rest their necks
Sunken in their splintered cradles
And ramshackle heads
They asked for it
As a girl

You have set your heart
On haunting me forever
From the start
It's never silent

Ever since we met
I only shoot up with your perfume
It's the only thing
That makes me feel as good as you do
Ever since we met
I've got just one regret to live through
And that one regret is you

How does a heart love, if no one has noticed its presence
And where does it go?
Trembling hands play my heart like a drum
But the beat's gotten lost in the show

You have set your heart
On haunting me forever
From the start
It's never silent

Ever since we met
I only shoot up with your perfume
It's the only thing
That makes me feel as good as you do
Ever since we met
I've got just one regret to live through
And I regret never letting you know!

Ever since we met
I only shoot up with your perfume
It's the only thing
That makes me feel as good as you do
Ever since we met
I've got just one regret to live through
And that one regret is you

Mona Lisa pleased to please ya
(And that one regret is you)
Mona Lisa pleased to please ya
(And that one regret is you)
Mona Lisa pleased to please ya
(I've got just one)
