Viva Las Vengeance (abbreviated as VLV) is the seventh and final studio album by American rock band Panic! at the Disco. It was released on August 19, 2022, through DCD2 and Fueled by Ramen.
Background[]
On May 14, 2022, a website titled shutupandgotobed.com launched. On May 29, Panic! at the Disco announced they'd be releasing a song titled "Viva Las Vengeance" on June 1.[3] On June 1, they announced they'd be releasing an album of the same name, along with along with the 2022-23 Viva Las Vengeance Tour.[4] They revealed the album’s track listing on June 2.[5]
On July 7, Panic! at the Disco made an Instagram post with the following caption: "Honey honey, you're my favorite drug".[6] On July 14, they made an Instagram post with the following caption: "Buzzin' 🐝 Maggie & Boyd make their debut in "Middle Of A Breakup" - song + video out Wednesday, July 20th."[7]
On July 29, they announced they'd be releasing a song titled "Local God" on August 5.[8] On August 11, they announced they'd be releasing a song titled "Don't Let the Light Go Out" on August 16.[9][10] In November 2022, Panic! at the Disco performed "Don't let the Light Go Out" on the Kelly Clarkson Show.[11]
On January 24, 2023, Brendon Urie announced that the UK leg of the Viva Las Vengeance Tour would consist of their last performances, as Panic! at the Disco would disband following the tour's last show on March 10, 2023, in Manchester, United Kingdom.[12]
